If you’re looking to have a more budget-friendly wedding in Coventry, there are some tips and tricks you could consider to save yourself some money.
Always think about what’s the most important thing to you as a couple. This will vary considerably from couple to couple. It might be the food, or the music. It might be having a large number of people there with you. Talk about the most important things to you so you know the areas where you are willing to spend money vs the things you’re more willing to compromise on.
One way to reduce the cost of a wedding is to limit your guest numbers. This might not work for every couple, but if you can cut down the number of people coming to the wedding breakfast - and perhaps invite them to the evening party instead, for example - you could save considerable cash.
Weekday or off-season weddings are a great way to make your wedding more affordable. Lots of Coventry venues have a reduced rate for mid-week weddings, or weddings in winter. Off peak season tends to be commonly considered Jan - April, plus October, but you should check with your venue.
You could save money and have a cheaper wedding by using your own suppliers, rather than the ones suggested by the venue - make sure you check with the venue what they permit before you do this, however!
This can allow you to compare prices more easily and go with cheaper options for some of the elements of your wedding that are less important to you.
A great way to achieve a cheaper wedding is to make a lot of the decorations yourself. Think about what your skills, or your family and friends’ skills, are and see if you can utilise them. Many crafts can be quite simple and easy to do too, so you don’t need a lot of talent to create beautiful centrepieces or cute wedding favours.
Not all receptions need to have glitz and glamour. Especially if you’re having a smaller wedding, you could consider a much more laid back reception. For example, booking a table at your favourite restaurant or even having lawn games, party food and drinks at home if you have the space for your guests.
However, this might not work for every couple, depending on what kind of wedding you want!
We’ve found some cheap and budget-friendly wedding venues in Coventry. The venues are somewhat different from each other in style, so you can find something that suits your budget and your taste.
